On Saturday May 11th 1,500 students and parents from the Juntos program made their journey to Oregon State University!
OSU Open Campus’ new program, College Ready, connects college-bound students with a success coach to guide them through graduation as well as throughout their freshman year of college.
Last week, Juntos participants from the Corvallis, Philomath, and Albany region were visited to OSU for the Noche de Familia event. The event was designed for students and parents to interact with current OSU undergraduate and graduate students, and faculty.
Yuridia Reyes presented on Exploring and Visualizing the Social Networks of Juntos Coordinators across the state of Oregon at the 2018 Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium.
These were all things found at the weekend STEM camp on campus at OSU cohosted by the College of Science Chemistry Department, OSU Juntos and Open Campus, and supported by OSU Precollege Programs. Nine girls and thirteen boys from various parts of Oregon, including Madras, Dayton, Hood River, Philomath, McMinnville, and Newberg participated in the second Juntos weekend STEM campus at OSU in Corvallis.
SOMOS LATINX offers families a series of workshops designed to work together around themes such as identity, race and culture.
I would like to share the excitement of two Culver High School seniors who have been awarded a much desired scholarship. These two students are recipients of the Ford Family Scholarship which will cover a large portion of their expenses in their undergraduate studies. Congratulations to Leslie Alvarado & Jorge Olivera.
Visiting colleges and universities early in the high school years — or even in middle school — can provide a clear and tangible understanding of college life as well as offer a source of educational and career inspiration.
