TBD 2024
Camp will be held at Tillamook Bay Community College
The Tillamook County Summer STEM Camp is an in-person, 3-day summer camp uniquely designed for students entering the eighth grade in Fall 2024.
Girls and women continue to be underrepresented in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. The Tillamook County Summer STEM Camp is intended to increase participation of girls and women in STEM fields by empowering girls to begin a successful path toward taking Advanced Placement courses in high school, pursuing a college degree, and ultimately entering the STEM workforce. Though the focus is on increasing participation of girls and women in STEM fields, all students, regardless of gender, are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Campers take classes and workshops on the Tillamook Bay Community College (TBCC) campus and at Kilchis Point during the camp while they learn about math and science, perform cool experiments and hands-on activities, and interact with female STEM role models.
This camp opens up a world of possibilities in which students see, first-hand, how exciting STEM careers can be and that they have what it takes to be in STEM.
