

Open Campus, Juntos, and New Beginnings for Tribal Students (NBTS) offer a diverse range of programs grounded in cultural relevance, community partnerships, and a commitment to educational access. Our offerings are grouped into four categories based on the leading Program:
Shared Services: Cross-program initiatives available through Open Campus, Juntos, and NBTS. These include mentoring, college access workshops, career exploration events, and community engagement efforts.
Open Campus: Local, community-based programming that supports learners of all ages through college access, career and technical education (CTE), pre-transfer support, adult diploma pathways, and more.
Juntos: A culturally sustaining program designed for Latinx students and families. Juntos emphasizes family engagement, bilingual college access programming, clubs, and workshops.
New Beginnings for Tribal Students (NBTS): Programming that supports Native American youth and college students through culturally grounded camps, mentorship, internships, and community-based learning opportunities.
Programs are offered in person, online, or in hybrid formats. Some are delivered county-by-county based on local partnerships, while others are offered statewide.

Student Advocates/Mentoring: Our coordinators provide personalized support for high school students, families, community college students, and adult learners. We connect individuals with valuable resources and work to co-create individualized educational and career plans. Whether a student is preparing for college, navigating the transfer process, or looking at other training or career options, our team is here every step of the way to advocate for their success and helping them achieve their goals.

Open Campus Coordinators are based in the regions they serve, connected directly with partners and learners to offer programs tailored to the unique needs of each community.
PASOS Colegiales | College STEPS: We support high school seniors on their journey to higher education through a structured curriculum and Google Classroom. The program consists of ten modules, each covering essential steps in preparing for college that help students stay organized and on track. The content can be provided in English or Spanish.

Pre-Transfer Support: We offer personalized one-on-one support to help students explore and navigate their transfer options from community college to any four-year university. Scholarship Texting Series: Our texting series keeps students and parents informed about college scholarship opportunities. We send tips on applying for scholarships, including essay advice, upcoming deadlines, and where to find scholarships, helping maximize students’ chances for funding.

Rural Data Office: Our interdisciplinary team offers expertise in accessing and analyzing publicly available data on Oregon communities. We provide guidance on data interpretation and assist with primary and secondary data collection, supporting community-data users across the state.

Juntos is a multi-component college and career access program designed to transform pathways to higher education for youth and their families by bringing the participants and educational institutions together. Juntos is unique among college access programs because it engages the entire family, is primarily offered in Spanish, and minimizes barriers to participation. Juntos Coordinators are based in the regions they serve, connected directly with partners and program participants to offer program components.
Juntos Family Engagement Workshop Series: Our workshop series, designed to include the entire family, is for students in grades 6–12. Through partnerships with schools and community organizations, we provide information, resources, and support to help participants navigate the education system, increase high school graduation rates, explore college and career pathways, and strengthen family engagement.

Juntos Afuera: Our Juntos Afuera program is designed to provide students and their families with positive outdoor experiences while fostering a strong sense of community. This program offers more than just a fun experience; it empowers students to become informed environmental stewards and confident leaders within their communities.

Juntos Academia: Juntos Academy is a fun and inspiring overnight summer camp on OSU’s campus that engages high school students from around the state. Through hands-on activities and workshops, students build confidence, grow as leaders, and discover that college is within their reach.

Juntos Family Day: These one-day events are designed to bring Juntos students and their families from across the state to experience OSU, learn about student resources, and hear about the various pathways to higher education. The day offers a variety of engaging activities, workshops, tours, and presentations aimed at fostering a sense of belonging and encouraging post-secondary participation.

Caminos: Caminos is a series workshops for college-bound high school seniors, typically offered in the summer after high school graduation. Caminos recognizes and builds on the strengths that students already have, while also addressing key topics and potential barriers to enhance post-secondary retention and persistence.
Mariachi STEAM Camp: Our camp offers 6-12 grade students a week-long experience blending music and technology. Campers enhance their musical skills and learn about mariachi’s cultural significance, while also participating in STEM workshops, academic sessions, and evening activities led by undergraduate students and community mentors.
¡SOMOS LATINX!: Our self-guided virtual tool encourages reflection and conversation around Latinx identity. Designed for anyone interested in Latinx history, it features interactive modules that explore the cultural and historical factors shaping the U.S. Latinx experience.

NBTS Camp: Our residential summer camp is designed for youth entering 9th – 12th grades, self-identifying as Native American and living in Oregon. The camp is intended to increase interest in the environmental sciences and access to higher education for Native American youth through hands-on activities and engagement with Indigenous leaders, natural resource professionals, and graduate students.
NBTS Undergraduate Internship/Mentorship Program: Our students engage in at least 8 weeks of mentoring to increase their understanding of their field of study through experiential learning. Interns are mentored by either an employer, supervisor, faculty member, or other expert. Mentors are expected to attend a culturally-informed mentor training provided by OSU for free. All interns and mentors meet as a cohort periodically during the summer.
NBTS Club: Our clubs are dynamic and supportive groups designed to empower Native American students through education, community engagement, and cultural celebration. Clubs provide a welcoming environment where members can connect, share experiences, and work together towards academic and personal success while connecting with a post-secondary access specialist.
