Este verano, el programa de Open Campus y Juntos está lanzando el campamento de Caminos para estudiantes Latinx de primer año que van a asistir un colegio comunitario, universidad pública o privada en el otoño. Este campamento residencial de 3 días consistirá de sesiones y talleres para ayudar a los estudiantes navegar las instituciones de educación superior y destacar la riqueza cultural de la comunidad Latina. Además, participaran en actividades divertidas como boliche, una barbacoa y más!
This summer, the Open Campus and Juntos program is piloting Caminos Camp for first-year Latinx college students attending any community college, public and private universities in the Fall. This 3-day residential camp will consist of sessions and workshops to help students navigate higher education institutions and highlight the cultural wealth of the Latinx community. Plus, we will engage in fun activities such as bowling, a BBQ celebration and more!

Our mission is to support first-year Latinx college students by providing them with the tools, resources, and information to help them navigate higher education institutions. We will address key topics and potential barriers with the goal to enhance retention and persistence and make their dreams of obtaining a college degree a reality. We want to highlight the cultural knowledge, skills, and abilities of the Latinx community that will be an asset in their college journey!
Students will engage in the program in the summer (i.e. July) after their high school graduation and before their enrollment in an institution of higher education in the fall. This program consists of the following:
